Out of the Fryer and Into the Frying Pan

Hell It's about damn time

Yes indeed I have been playing WOW this whole time. Yes I'm still alive.

The WOW sickness has finally lifted enough for other things in my life turning into a 2 times a week thing instead of an every waking moment thing. So naturally I finally purchased Starcraft 2.

Good news is I've never been the biggest fan of online RTS, I'm more of the single player story line campaign guy so the SC2 sickness can only last SOOO long, leaving me with my minor WOW symptoms, the Red Sox, the NBA playoffs so long as the Celtics are alive and then finally 40k... !

Coming soon... maybe.... hopefully.

Hey slaggin' Tyranids errr.... I mean Zerg has to be good for me right?!

WoW: No one gets out alive.

"I'll get my wife hooked on World of Warcraft too. That way I can't play it all the time and have to work on other stuff like, eating, bathing, cleaning... oh yeah and 40k too!"

That was the plan and it worked out great because indeed she is now hooked on WoW as well. What I didn't expect is our old "broken" PC to suddenly have it's USB ports miraculously start working again which I noticed almost by a simple mistake. This led to us playing WoW some of Saturday and all day Sunday TOGETHER!

Fail.

House of Paincakes FTW!

Just this past weekend I joined the House of Paincakes Blog Network and yesterday my Chaos Sorcerer was number one on their weekly top 10! ....err I mean top six. Anyway I just wanted to offer them my thanks. It's so damn flattering when someone likes your work let alone helps pull you out of a Warcraft coma, so thanks guys.

Speaking of WOW I've leveled 16 times in three nights proving that I already have a problem but that awesome recognition yesterday helped get me 40k motivated again. Nothing like the approval and attention of people you've never met before to get you up out of your chair! Lord knows my wife couldn't! HA! Kidding.... kinda.

So this weekend I plan on building a Rhino for one of my squads that I've been planing out in my head for sometime. Yes I have a three day weekend and could do more but let's not get crazy here, I have a 16th level Dwarf Paladin named Ironsoul who would be pissed if I'm away too long... oh yeah and a wife.

See kids that's the trick to success: setting the bar low and not setting yourself up to fail!

Happy New Year everyone!

Trouble on the Horizon: The WOW Sickness

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Mine turned out to be OK, the wife and I had a health scare that for now at least appears to be past us pending some check ups in a month or so. All in all it appears to have ended well but I'm still a little bit nervous.

I was hoping to get plenty of 40k stuff for Christmas, especially the new plastic demon prince which I'm going to use as a wolf lord on a thunderwolf. Instead everyone seemed to avoid everything 40k on my amazon wishlist like grandfather Nurgle. Instead I got video games... lots of them. First I got Assassins Creed: Brotherhood which considering how much I loved the first two is dangerous enough! Second was the classic Fable, I just finished Fable 2 and liked it so much that I wanted to go back and play the original.

Worst of all however is that my wife bought me World of Warcraft.... yeah.

Now I played WOW years ago when it first came out and though I enjoyed it I didn't get crazy hooked like everyone else it seemed. Not sure why but I know a big part of it was not knowing anyone else how played at the time.

Fast forward five years later and my wife and I make friends with an amazing group of people and they all play WOW! This tempted me to give it another go, especially hearing about some of the changes in the game over the past few years. Still I decided against it fearing that I would get too hooked and especially fearing that 40K would take too much of a back seat....

Regrettably I didn't tell my wife that....

Last night I gave it a go and I loved it! Much more than I did way back when... this may pose a problem. Is this the end of our noble hero's quest to build an army?! The hot but-her-face blood elves above say YES!

I think my only chance is to let my wife play who is actually very interested and hopefully that won't lead to us buying another computer so we can play together.

Stay tuned! ...or don't cause I might not be here for awhile!
